Sabah Chess Academy, a new initiative of Bridge Group, was opened in Baku

Attendees at the opening ceremony of the Academy included Mahir Mammadov, President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Yagub Huseynov, Chairman of Bridge Group, Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports. Also, the event was graced by the presence of outstanding Azerbaijani chess players, such as three-time European champion, world U-20 champion, world rapid chess champion, international grandmaster Govhar Beydullayeva; world U-20 champion, two-time European champion, international grandmaster Abdullah Gadimbayli; world Blitz U-20 champion, international grandmaster Magomed Muradli; as well as a member of the national Olympic team of Azerbaijan, semi-finalist of the ongoing World Cup in Baku, international grandmaster Nijat Abasov.

"Our main goal is to develop the intellectual potential of the youth and contribute to the chess community of the country. We are proud that we were able to establish Sabah Chess Academy and believe that this project will be successful," noted Yagub Huseynov, Chairman of Bridge Group.

Sabah Chess Academy is set to become a center of intellectual development of youth and an important factor in enhancement of chess culture in the country. The lessons will be conducted by professional teachers, honored coaches of the country under the guidance of international grandmaster, honored coach of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jahangir Agaragimov.
